FAQ
Discover answers to common queries about readings, appointments, and more.
When did you realize you were a medium?
I would say around the age of 10. But it scared me and I also knew it was not
something everyone did, so I blocked it out. It wasn’t until my early 20s that I
started tapping into it again. I didn’t use it formally until my 30s.
Do you do this full time or as you still a therapist or hospice worker?
After a 25 year career as a social worker, MSW and LCSW, I have a private
practice which I don’t currently use as I am now a full-time medium. It’s
important to note that although readings are NOT a clinical service, my
background as a therapist with a concentration in grief counseling certainly
comes in handy. So are my readings different that way? Yes. You don’t just get a
medium; you also get my experience and knowledge base as a grief counselor.
Are you taking on therapy clients?
No, not at this time. There are many qualified and licensed mental health
professionals in our area to choose from. But that is not a service I offer at this
time. Readings are not a clinical service and should not be interpreted as such
(see disclaimer).
How do you get your information? Are you a card reader?
I am clairvoyant, clairaudient and clairsentient, which means I see, hear and feel
information. I also smell and taste information, known as clairsalience and
clairgustance. I do not use cards or any aid because all the information I am
receiving is coming directly from spirit. I receive images, feelings, words and
sentences, and impressions from your loved ones in spirit. I can also hear them.
Common details that come through in a reading are names or initials, manner of
death, details about the person’s childhood and adulthood, current family
information and dynamics and anything else the spirit wants to convey. There is
also time for you to ask questions. Readings are similar but always unique, and
specific to the person I’m reading for. I am an evidential medium, which means I
will always give you multiple details and specifics. Through me, your loved one
will often convey their personality, sense of humor, facial expressions and
words/conversations had verbatim.
Are you also a psychic?
Yes, I am a psychic medium. (Although I prefer the term ‘spiritual intuitive and
medium’.) All mediums are psychic, but not all psychics are mediums. I relay to
you verbally all the information I get from your loved ones in spirit. Much like
any area of skill, different people in my field use different modalities and
techniques. None are better or worse than another; just different! I don’t use
cards because I don’t need them. Mediumship is my specialty, but my readings
also include psychic information. Sometimes people only want psychic
readings, and I can do that. However, be aware that I don’t read cards, leaves,
stones, etc. All of my information comes directly from spirit.
Do animals come through in appointments?
Yes! To date, I’ve had multiple dogs, cats, pigs, a llama, goats, horses, farm
animals and even a bearded dragon lizard. Animals come through regularly in
any given session and provide the same very specific information humans do.
How long should I wait after a passing to make an appointment?
My recommendation is at least 6-12 months. After an immediate loss, you need
time to grieve. And as much as you need time to navigate your new reality, so
does your loved one in spirit. They are acclimating and assimilating into their
new existence, also. The reading you’ll get a week after a loss and 6 months
after are generally very different, because both you are and your loved one are
in different places emotionally.
When Can I Reschedule After I’ve Had a Reading?
I’m blown away and deeply grateful for the amount of repeat clients I receive.
That said, I do ask that you wait that a minimum of 6-12 months before
rescheduling with me. Mediumship is an enhancement to grief work, not a
substitute, and should not be treated as such. It should not be something a
person becomes dependent on. That said, most people find it an incredibly
healing experience and I am happy to read for you again after some time has
passed.
What should I bring to my appointment?
I encourage you to record your session on a device of you’re choosing. This must
be done and ready to go prior to your session. If you have any items of a family
member you’d like me to read from, I absolutely can. They can strengthen the
connection, but they are not necessary and do not affect the quality of a
reading. But you are more than welcome to bring anything. It has also happened
on many an occasion that a sitter brings items hidden in their pockets or purse
which their loved one from spirit references specifically during the reading. I do
ask that with a loved one’s momentos you’ve brought that you keep them out of
sight from me. People normally do, and then spirit does what I jokingly call “the
big reveal.”
How does a reading typically go?
After you arrive, we will sit together at a table in my office. It is a very relaxing,
calming space. I have a small notebook I doodle in while I read; it helps me
channel the energy and keep it moving. I scribble but also write down names
and words. I begin by telling you who I immediately feel around you. In any
given individual session, as many as 2-4 people may come in, sometimes more. I
do not want you to tell me any information as I’m channeling but I will ask if
what I’m saying makes sense to you. Be open to the process; let spirit do the
work. Let them lead. That’s why you’re here! There will be tears but equal
amounts of laughter. You may be surprised at the amount of information that is
conveyed; this is why I encourage you to record your session if you so choose.
Are appointments recorded?
You are welcome and encouraged to bring your mobile phone or another
recording device to the reading. Please choose your mode of recording and have
it prepared and ready prior to your appointment and start time. There are
multiple apps you may use, or you may record directly onto your phone or
another audio device of your choosing.
Can I bring a child?
Children over the age of 12 are welcome to attend a reading, but this is
determined on a case by case basis. Please notify me to discuss this prior to
scheduling. Parental/Guardian approval is required prior to the reading.
Can I bring a friend for moral support?
Unfortunately, no. If an individual wants to bring someone, that automatically
becomes a two person reading. This is because I have no idea who will come
through from spirit and for whom.
Do you do virtual readings? Are they different from in person readings?
I do! I have read for people across the country and abroad, and did my entire full
time schedule via Zoom during 2020 for 16 months. There is no discernable
difference in virtual readings vs in person. If your time zone requires a different
time slot, please contact me to schedule a time that works for both of us. Phone
readings are also no different than in person in terms of the quality of the
reading. Spirit comes through the same as they do in person, as they are not
tied to a specific place or location.
